Ma'e

Imagine yourself lying on this mat since 1979. Imagine that one shot for pain could reduce you from a strong, self-sufficient husband and father ... to someone needing care 24 hours a day. Ma'e touched my heart like no other in Samoa. When Carol and I first visited him he was so helpless and sincerely appreciative for any effort we would offer on his behalf.

To our delight, through God's grace, Mae' has received multiple chairs. The chair in this photo was donated by Hope Haven International (need link). Can you imagine what sitting up for the first time in nearly 20 years must have been like?
